Julieta Alejandra Brambila is a transwoman and a media scholar. She is an Assistant Professor at the School of Communication at the Universidad de las Américas, Puebla. She is a PhD researcher at the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. She specialized on journalism, comparative political communication, press freedom and safety of journalists, as well as public opinion and public diplomacy in México and the Americas. About these topics, she has published more than 10 journal articles and book chapters, and has gave over 45 public addresses, conferences and academic presentations in the Americas, Europe and Japan.
